OBJECTIVE means that which is on the outside, that which is up and away from you. The male principle. Mental and sensoric domain.

It is the potential hidden in the mist that eventually breaks the dark, pinches the silence and peeps out from below for the first time. The child who moves one step away into the world when the realization dawns that all is in fact not just one. As soon as the awareness of of objectivity enters, that there are distinct obects around a subject, the subject itself becomes aware of its own lines, its own definition. The unity gives way to opposition. The mud crystalizes. And brooding gives in to.. growing.

It is the adolescent that represents the world of the objective, where the movement outward and upward is all the momentum. It is the daring experiment to find space for oneself, it is accumilation of new and adventurous experience, it is testing the limits up to the point of aggression and conquest. This is the mood that defines our civilization up to the present day: experimentation, energetic knowledge and the thrall of instruments of power. It carries with it its own dangers, especially te danger of addiction, of the mistaken assumption that growth can last forever.

The remedy is strangely enough not to inhibit objectivity. So as you enter this mood, open your mind wide to the strange and new, hush forth in exhiliration and ride the wave of mastery to the full. The aim of growth is to seek out limits and those are only found by bouncing into them with full awareness. For it is limitation that saves us from phantasies of omnipotence and the beguiling temptations of godliness. There is another phase to enter, where objective meets subjective, where black meets white, where the adolescent is checked in by the child, to give birth to maturity.
