Dear all

Sometimes it takes a long time for an event to find its feet. And sometimes two events eventually come together, but also quite close together in time and in place!

Now, they usually say: don't do this, don’t perform so close together. But then again, an event is more than its numbers. It grows a life and an identity of its own, and in the end you have two performances that do not compete, but compliment.

So it will be in two weeks' time in Gelderland. On Tuesday 13 January I visit the Aventurijn School in Loenen, first in the morning to present a workshop, then in the evening for a public performance. During this performance I will also involve some willing students to perform some items with me, and believe me, these spontaneous items are usually the highlights of the event! So this event will have a family and youthful spirit, including the pleasant surprise of a few improvised collaborations.

Then, two days later, I return to Marry's Bloemen- en Kruidenhuis in Beekbergen. This is not any sort of "return". The Kruidenhuis has been one of my first venues coming to Europe in the early 2000's. There have been memorable events, always graced by Marry's indomitable spirit and extensive knowledge of the healing powers of nature. So for this performance, now organized by her son, I will make a special point of performing pieces and items related to South Africa and nature itself. Enjoy the herb gardens and the healthy treats, along with the naturally expressed music!
